FORCES SWEETHEARTS RAISE MONEY FOR RCF

Beryl Korman (pictured left) and Liz Biddle (far right) are seen here presenting a giant cheque for £2147.68 to RCF Chairman Peter Foot. The magnificent sum was collected during 2010 performances of their touring production Forces Sweethearts at theatres up and down the UK. This happy picture was taken by Fund Administrator Mary Doyle in the beautiful gardens of Liz and Beryl's Larg House in Coulsdon where they run their music agency Upbeat Management. (You can see the gardens for yourself on May 15th when they are opened in aid of the Fund and the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity - see news item below!)

Garden Open Day 2011

The Garden Open Day on 15th May 2011 was a huge success and to date in excess of £7k has been raised - which will be shared between the Royal Castle Fund and the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. The Mayor of Sutton kindly said a few words followed by Fiona Castle, patron of the Roy Castle Fund, who then opened the proceedings. The weather just held off long enough for everyone to enjoy the music of Atlantis, Gary James and James Vickery - plus all the stalls that dotted the garden. The money raised on the tombola is being matched by The National Grid. The money from the gate is being matched by Newton Honda, Croydon, and the raffle money by Barclays Bank. Sponsorship was also received from Sainsbury's in Wallington, Tesco in Purley, El Nido Spanish Restaurant in Wallington and Kall Kwik Printing in Leatherhead! The cafe was busy all afternoon, serving hot dogs, cream teas and Krispy Kreme donuts. And a great time was had by all!
